Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine is a natural option to complement traditional Western medicine. Naturopathic medicine and licensed practitioners aim to treat medical conditions with natural remedies. The goal of naturopathic medicine is not only to treat medical conditions, but to find underlying causes and cure them once and for all.

Naturopathic remedies are developed to promote healing and optimal health and wellness. Our naturopathic doctors use only natural substances, nutritional counseling and treatments such as acupuncture, to enable the body to heal itself.  Each treatment is based on the individual and their medical history.

Naturopathic treatments include:

  • Nutritional counseling
  • Lifestyle counseling
  • Acupuncture
  • Herbal Medicine
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine
  • Nutraceutical Supplements
  • Manual Therapy

Our naturopathic medicines use non-invasive therapies to harness the natural healing powers of your body. By assessing your physical, emotional and mental state, our naturopathic doctors will develop a personalized program and treatment plan. Naturopathic treatments can compliment conventional medical treatment or be used on its own.

Nutraceuticals

Nutraceuticals are dietary supplements, also called functional foods that are used to help prevent and treat disease. These products can be single nutrients like Vitamin C or dietary supplements such as a multiple vitamin/mineral combined together. Known to have health benefits, nutraceuticals provide protection against chronic disease and are good for spine and joint problems. Nutraceuticals include glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, fish oils (omega 3s), and the herb such as Boswellia.

Supplemental nutraceuticals provide extra nutrition. When a person’s diet is not able to meet all the nutrients needed by their body, supplemental nutrients may be helpful. Fatigue, joint stiffness and body aches can be signs of decreased nutritional health. Nutraceuticals are a quick and reliable way to restore, repair and return to good health.

NutracuticalsNutraceuticals can help:

  • Reduce inflammation
  • Reduce nerve pain stimulation
  • Rebuild and restore strength in bones
  • Build connective tissue
  • Repair every day wear and tear on the body
  • Decrease tightening and stiffening of muscles, connective tissues and joints

Acupuncture

Our practitioners use the evidence-based concepts of acupuncture to relieve pain, alter movement patterns and improve performance. Our practitioners bring a wealth of knowledge from our diverse array of acupuncture training. From training in ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine, to Contemporary Medical Programs our team of acupuncturists and acupuncture providers can ensure you get the best care possible.

Acupuncture is when fine solid needles (acupuncture needles) are inserted into anatomically defined neurofunctional sites. The needles are stimulated manually or with electricity for the therapeutic purpose of modulating abnormal activity of the nervous system and/or the endocrine, exocrine and immune systems, in pain syndromes, functional problems, and any diseases in which these modulatory mechanisms are available.

Acupuncture originates from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Traditional and modernized acupuncture has been practiced worldwide for centuries to treat various medical conditions, and remains a popular alternative to traditional forms of pain treatment.

Contrary to popular belief, acupuncture treatment has been very well studied in both eastern and western scientific literature. The scientifically proven benefits of acupuncture include pain relief, inflammation reduction, improved blood flow, stress reduction, improved nerve conduction, addiction control, as well as improved organ function.
